Happy New Year

As we leave 2016 and head into 2017, I would be shirking my duty if I did not thank all those and remember those who have allowed us to celebrate the new year in peace and freedom.

MY Christmas in 1968

I spent Christmas in 1968 in South Vietnam. There were many of us there at the time, a little over 500,000 as I remember. I was one of the fortunate ones, as I made it out alive and able to return to CONUS.

The initials stand for the Continental United States, or as my fellow veteran's referred to it at the time, "back in the world." This post is to wish every veteran out there, and from any conflict anywhere, a very Merry Christmas. I choose also this night, a few days before Christmas, to remember those not yet accounted for.
                                                             MERRY CHRISTMAS

December 21, 2016

Post today is going to be about real estate and homes. The holiday season can be a really great time to buy a house. The competition of people looking to buy is less, and sellers are getting less traffic to their properties.

In addition to that, people are considering beginning the New Year with a fresh start, whether it be a new job, or moving to a different area. I make these observations after almost 40 years of work in the fields of real estate and mortgage loan originations.

Peace and Merry Christmas to all.

It is late in December and I have great news for all my Vietnam friends and brothers out there. HR 6416 became law on December 16, 2016. I have to take my hat off to Congress on this one. It was introduced into the House on December 1st, passed there on the 6th, went to the Senate on the 7th where it passed on the 10th.

It then went to the President on the 14th and signed by the President on the 16th of December. Stay tuned as this law plays out. It could have great benefits for those veterans whose lives have been affected by toxins. Can you say "Agent Orange?"

I will be keeping up as the bill goes along. Stay tuned and I will attempt to keep you updated. Once again Merry Christmas to all.

It's Late in the Day at It's Late in the Game Blog

Today is a few days from Christmas and the NFL regular season is winding down. I am from the Cleveland area and it's been a good year with the Cavalier's, Indian's etc. Those of us who have been around know that the professional team in Cleveland that once dominated the league, has never recovered from that guy from New York that purchased the team back in the day.

Those in the know realize that the Championship of 1964 was a result of Paul Brown picked players and when those players left the game, the championships left with them. It is difficult to see the current edition sitting on an 0-14 record.

I mentioned in earlier blog posts that I am a real estate broker. I was also a loan officer and a mortgage broker for many years as well. Much of my financing efforts involved helping people with credit situations. There are many things you can do to raise your credit scores and as I go through the days with these posts, I will give snippets of information designed to help you if you need help. Tip for today: If you are short of cash after pay day, pay installment debts first. I am referring to credit card companies and other installment creditors. Your utility company may charge you a small late fee, but chances are they are not reporting to the credit bureaus.

Back shortly, Merry Christmas all.

It's Late in the Game on December 18, 2016. We are here to post about real estate and mortgages. I have been a real estate agent and broker going on 40 years now. I have learned a lot in that time span. I have also written an ebook  that reveals some insightful tips about things I have learned along the way. As we go down the road with these blog posts I will provide information that can be of great benefit to you. For now, take time to enjoy your families this holiday season and we will get down to business in the new year. Merry Christmas all!!

December 17, 2006,

First post on the new blog entitled It's Late in the Game. Friends it is not too late to let you know of an exciting development that occurred a week ago on Saturday December 10, 2016.

On that day House Bill HR 6416 cleared the Senate and House of Representatives, going on to the President for his signature. The gist of the bill involves potential funding for veterans who have children and grandchildren affected by their veterans exposure to toxins as a result of their war-time service.

I mention Agent Orange for those Vietnam Veterans and other toxins for the Veterans that served after that in the various theaters.  I will post my email address here in the event you would like a link to read the entire bill.

Merry Christmas to you all.   artieg46@gmail.com
